Welcome Culturversers

Meet our team!

Aly
Alyssa Romano is a Communications and Cultural Studies major & a Professional Writing minor from Montreal who spends her free time watching YouTube and writing feature stories and OP-EDs. She founded CULTURVERSY along with the rest of the team in 2020, with the goal of informing Culturversers about current cultural events in a fun, energetic, and entertaining way. Aly is always the first to know about steaming hot TEA. She is an author and the multimedia and production editor at CULTURVERSY.
Nat
Natasha Lalonde is studying Creative Writing, Psychology and Professional Writing at Concordia University in Montreal and likes to spend her free time teaching dance and being as artsy fartsy as possible. One of five founders of CULTURVERSY, she thinks that a splash of critical thinking and activism would benefit us all and tries her best to let that come through in her writing. As the profiles editor and copy editor, she makes sure that everything you see is top notch and ready to read.

Marco
Marco Buttice is an Honours English Literature and Professional Writing student at Concordia University in Montreal. His obsession with entertainment news and pop culture led him to be one of the founders of CULTURVERSY. There is nothing he loves more than a good piece of writing, except for maybe his family and his poodle mix. On the website, he writes and edits reviews, while also assisting in the creation of the special content. When Marco works on a project, you can always expect a fun and thought-provoking ride.
Anna-Lisa Reda is specializing in English Literature and minoring in Professional Writing at Concordia University in Montreal. Accompanying her education, she is one of the founders of CULTURVERSY and in charge of editing the Op-Eds and making sure everything is fact checked. She loves everything there is to love about pop culture and is the only one of the founders that actually likes the Kardashians. Besides her love for reading and writing, she also indulges in her other passion, cooking.

Rach
Rachele Lucadamo is an English Literature and Professional Writing student at Concordia University in Montreal. She founded CULTURVERSY with four of her friends and when she’s not writing for CULTURVERSY, she enjoys reading and updating her Instagram blog, @book.queeen. Her knack for keeping people entertained is the reason she loves interacting and starting conversations. She is currently writing reviews and opinions, and creating the fun quizzes you all love. She also gets to edit the feature stories and boss around her colleagues for due dates as managing editor.
OUR MISSION
The name CULTURVERSY comes from a combination of “culture” and “controversy,” which is exactly what our site provides. Our goal is to capture a sense of debate, scandal, and buzz and provide quick and engaging articles to spark and shed light on the latest tea. We are here to keep you informed but entertained at the same time!
We keep up with everything that’s going on in pop culture, including music, art, literature, fashion, dance, film, cyberculture, television, and celebrity culture, hoping to satisfy everyone’s interests from A to Z. We want to subvert traditional reporting and allow you to think differently. We know that our readers care about more than who was wearing what or which scandal made the most money. To really get the conversation started, CULTURVERSY focuses on what’s important: innovation, representation and value.
We just want to get you thinking! We are not here to tell you how to feel. In fact, we hope that you form your own opinions and keep the conversation in the comment section and on our social media.
So get reading and get thinking!
Welcome to CULTURVERSY.
